Almost all metal is able to be recycled. It can be melted down and reprocessed. Millions of tons of metal are considered scrap each year. The ability to reprocess it allows us to maintain our metal sources as well as reduce the amount of materials that find their way to the landfills.

Metals have been in use since very prehistoric times. They have been used to make jewelry, weapons, equipment, construction, and for vehicles.
